WHAT’S THE CONNI CONFERENCE ALL ABOUT?
The CONNI Conference is a simple concept - to give you something new to learn, to grow professionally and personally, to connect with your peers and share ideas, to reignite your passion for work and life in general. What better way to celebrate than on Conni’s 20th anniversary…something that would not have been possible without our Continence Community.
WHY?
We've always thought the corporate world should give back to those who contribute to their existence.
Our company philosophy believes taking our successes and contributing to the well-being of clinicians, physios, OTs, carers, and other allied health and aged care workers is quite simply the right thing to do. It is a celebration of these very people who, due to their support, are giving us the legs to develop new products, improve existing ones and grow our market. The CONNI Conference is now a part of our annual 'giving back' strategy.
We're just a small fish in a big pool of sharks, but we're surviving and having a whole lot of fun in the process.
IS IT ACCREDITED?
Absolutely! By attending the CONNI Conference, you will receive Professional Development Points. Ongoing learning is now recognised as an essential component of Registration by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
The NMBA has developed registration standards that apply to numerous measures and requirements of nursing competency. One such requirement of all practicing nurses and midwives is an annual commitment to at least 20 hours of continuing professional development (CPD). LEARN MORE
CAN WE GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME?
Since 2004, CONNI has been sponsoring continence nurses to attend conferences worldwide in recognition of their work and their colleagues and to improve the knowledge of Australia's continence community.
Over the past few years, we have also extended this to a second award, the CONNI physiotherapist award, recognising the work physiotherapists have been doing with continence education.
This year is going to be a little different. We know how much COVID has affected travel, the pressure on our nursing community and how tricky it is to get a break to focus on personal development days. What we plan on doing is asking you what you think the 2024 Conni Awards should look like, based on the feedback from those who have and will apply. We have allocated time at the 2023 Conni Conference to discuss this further, having a feedback session to make sure the 2024 Conni Awards are the best one yet!

WELCOME FROM GLENYS DRAYTON - CEO OF CONNI
What a ride it's been over the past couple of years. Although many people are now truly seeing what our healthcare professionals do daily, you can be assured the team at CONNI have always known. That’s why all those years ago, we created the CONNI Conference as a mechanism to give something back to those who live, work and breathe in this very challenging space of caregiving and research.
We were forced to cancel the 2020 conference after it was fully booked. We worked swiftly to refund all delegates in the hope you wouldn’t forget about us, so it's timely now that CONNI has reached its 20th year anniversary that we reignite the annual conference and create a day that will bring us all together to reflect on our past and celebrate the future. To remain connected to those clinicians who have supported us through those early years and engage with new faces is the basis of this conference, and it's so important to us.
We will have a program of speakers to knock your socks off, plus heaps of prizes. Please put aside this day on The Bellarine (near Geelong) to experience this lovely location, beautiful food, great views and many speakers with amazing stories to tell. We look forward to seeing you at our (delayed) 4th CONNI conference.
